Professor Kenny, a 27-year veteran of the Department of Business Administration and Accounting served as Chair of the Department from 1995-1997 and again from 2001 to the end of 2004. He was Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs in 1997-1998 and Vice President for Administration and Treasurer in 1998-1999. His training and research interests include accounting, auditing, financial management, and federal income tax. He holds bachelors degrees in mathematics and business administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Vermont, and he is a C.P.A. When not teaching accounting or finance, you can find Bob with his family, volunteering in the community, or participating in one of many outside and athletic interests.

William Anderson

M.B.A. Amos Tuck School (Dartmouth); B.A. Dartmouth College
Professor Anderson began teaching at Saint Michael's in the fall of 1974. He usually teaches statistics, operations management, and business policy and has taught database management in the Computer Science Department. Currently, he serves as the College Chief Information Officer, a position to which he was appointed in January, 2002. Bill looks forward to returning to the classroom when he completes this assignment.

Professor Benson came to Saint Michael's after a successful stint in business and consulting. He teaches a broad cross-section of courses to undergraduate business majors and in the Masters of Science in Administration Graduate Program. He also teaches Financial Policies of Corporations, Labor Relations, Total Quality Management, and Financial and Managerial Accounting.

Richard Kuklis
Associate Professor of Business Administration and Accounting
Ph.D., M.B.A., B.S., Syracuse University
Dr. Kuklis’s areas of special interest are Marketing and Advertising. Along with those courses, he teaches Financial and Managerial Accounting and Business in Contemporary Society. He also consults on office organization. When not teaching, Dick makes furniture using exotic woods, he does bowl turning, and he is an avid golfer.

Robert Letovsky
Associate Professor of Business Administration and Accounting Director, Master of Science in Administration Program (M.S.A.)
Ph.D. Concordia University; M.B.A. University of Toronto; B.Comm., McGill University
Dr. Letovsky, a native of Montreal, Quebec, has corporate experience, has been in branch administration and commercial lending with the Royal Bank of Canada and the Toronto Dominion Bank, and has been in export finance with the Export Development Corporation. Dr. Letovsky focuses his teaching on marketing and international business, and his research focuses on government/business relations and on case development. He has had papers published in several journals, including The Columbia Journal of World Business, The Journal of Teaching in International Business, the Banker’s Magazine, and the Multinational Business Review. He has also had cases published in several outlets, including texts on strategic management and retailing, Quebec Studies Journal, Annual Advances in Case Research, Case Research Journal, the University of San Francisco Non-profit Case Collection, and Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of Diplomacy Case Collection. When not in the classroom, you can find Robert either hiking, canoeing or cross-country skiing. He also dabbles in military history and has had articles published in military history magazines.

Bonalyn J. NelsenDr. Nelsen received her Ph.D. from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations. Subjects taught in the department include organizational behavior and management, human resource management, and business policy and strategy management; subjects previously taught include strategic career development, leadership, negotiations, managing the learning organization, and franchising. Her research examines the effects of technical change in the workplace, with a specific focus on the effects of computerization on blue collar work. In addition to book chapters, Dr. Nelsen has published articles in Administrative Science Quarterly and Organizational Behavior Teaching Review.

Roger Putzel

Dr. Putzel can't stop innovating. His courses Foundations of Business Administration, Cross-Cultural Management, Leadership, The Future of Management, Power and Politics in Organizations, and especially Organizational Behavior never run the same way twice. He runs his management class as an organization using his own book, XB: Manual for a Learning Organization. XB (as a class or training program) has run on three continents; over a dozen other professors have run it.

Dennis Voigt C.P.A.

Professor Voigt came to Saint Michael's in the fall of 1977 as an adjunct professor. Thirteen years later, after establishing his own firm and working as a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick, he became a full-time faculty member. He primarily teaches Financial, Managerial, Fundamentals, and Intermediate Accounting along with Management Information Systems. Professor Voigt has taught at the University of Vermont as an adjunct professor as well. He loves living in Vermont, skiing and dabbling with computers.

Norman Walker

Professor Walker came to Saint Michael's College in 1984. His teaching responsibilities include Advanced Accounting, Financial, Managerial and Cost Accounting, and Finance and Business Ethics. He is a C.P.A. with audit, consulting and tax experience in a big four accounting firm and executive level positions in private industry. Professor Walker has also taught accounting courses at the University of Vermont, Rutgers University and St. Elizabeth's College. He loves golf and enjoys living in Vermont.

Mark J. Nigrini
Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Accounting
Ph.D., University of Cincinnati; M.B.A. University of Stellenbosch; B.Com (Hons), University of Cape Town.
Dr. Nigrini was formerly on the faculty at Southern Methodist University and Saint Mary’s University, Canada where he taught auditing, managerial accounting, and information systems.
His research is primarily based on data analysis using a phenomenon known as Benford’s Law. He saw the potential for auditors to use the expected digit patterns to test the authenticity of client data. In 1995 his work started receiving widespread publicity and was amongst others publicized in The Wall Street Journal, The Globe and Mail,The Financial Times, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Business Week, The Journal of Accountancy, and USA Today. He has presented numerous academic seminars and professional seminars for organizations such as the Institute of Internal Auditors, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, AICPA, ACFE, Bank Administration Institute, and the Association of Government Accountants. Dr. Nigrini has published papers related to data analysis in academic journals such as The Journal of the American Taxation Association, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, The Journal of Accounting Education, The Review of Accounting and Finance (forthcoming), and in several practitioner journals. Nigrini is the author of Digital Analysis Using Benford’s Law: Tests and Statistics for Auditors and Using Microsoft Access for Data Analysis and Interrogation.

Eric Nelson
Dr. Nelson received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in training and development. He came to the department in the fall of 1999 and has taught in a broad variety of areas including marketing, sales, retailing, international business and business policy. His research specialization is international business; thus, he serves as the Coordinator for the International Business Minor. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Nelson is an active consultant, stand-up trainer, the Saint Michael's College Rugby Faculty Coordinator, and the Coordinator for the Gentlemen and Ladies Rugby Clubs.

Paul Olsen

Dr. Olsen joined the Graduate Program in Administration in 1994 and is currently the Acting Associate Director. Joanne Scott

Professor Scott joined the Saint Michael's community in the fall of 1991 as a Professor in the Master of Science in Administration Program; the following fall she began teaching undergraduate courses. Her fields of expertise include corporate finance and international equity. She worked at Morgan Stanley for twelve years in cities such as Tokyo and New York and was Vice President of the firm when she left. Joanne LaBrake

Professor LaBrake began working at Saint Michael's in 1984 as Co-Director of the Center for Organizational Development. As a corporate consultant she conducted management and leadership training programs for companies such as IDX Corporation, Ben & Jerry's, Mylan Technologies, IBM Corporation and Skiis Dynaster. A faculty member of the Master of Science in Administration Graduate Program, Joanne teaches courses in Managerial Presentation, Professional Effectiveness, Team Development, and Women in Leadership. In 1999 she became the Co-Ordinator of the Academic Internship Program. When not in the classroom, you can find Joanne on the ski slopes or the Burlington Bike Path, depending on the season.
