Although St. Michael's began as a college for men with a male faculty there were women who were part of the infrastructure of running the College. The session will explore the role of women religious in the College's history up until 1962.

"Women in the Light": Reflections on the ways in which the advent of women students changed the intellectual, spiritual, and social aspects of Saint Michael’s College

The panelists will include Louise Stafford ’72; Dr. Carey Kaplan, Professor of English/Coordinator of the Gender/Women’s Studies Program; Dr. Jennie Cernosia, Director of Student Activities; and Malika Barker ’05. The panel will be moderated by Joan Wry ’79, Coordinator of Academic Programs/English Department who wrote the chapter, "Women in the Light: 100 Years at Saint Michael’s College" for President Emeritus Paul Reiss’s forthcoming book on Saint Michael’s. A reception in the lobby of Hoehl will follow.
